PSD# is undergoing a financial audit performed by the Public Service Commission.
This report is independently decided by the PSC.
As of December 10th the PSC has completed their report and is recommending PSD1 recieve a 1.37% rate increase.
At December 16th's Board meeting the PSD1 board voted to accept the PSC Staffs recommendation of a 1.37% rate increase.
As of February 19th the ALJ Presiding over the PSDs rate increase has decided to hold a public hearing on March 9th at 6pm at the Preston County Courthouse, County Commission Room in Kingwood.
On March 9th the Public Service Commission ALJ held a hearing for customers to express their concerns over the rate increase. The judge is to make her decision on whether PSD1 receives the rate increase by April 9th.
Quoted from the PSC staff memorandum "the monthly bill for a residential customer served by the district, at the average of 3,000 gallons of usage, will increase by $0.78 or 1.37% over current rates"
